At the February NYWD Board Meeting, the board unanimously approved the purchase of a much-needed vacuum trailer. The new equipment will enable staff to remove dirt, rocks and soil without the risk of damaging critical infrastructure like water main and services lines, or underground utility lines like phone, internet and power lines.

The equipment also improves job safety for our employees. The equipment was received, and training completed early this month and the team has been using it to maintain operations and protect our system infrastructure to ensure safe and reliable water delivery.
