New Fire Hydrant Installation Underway
We are excited to report that the project to improve the reliability of emergency water delivery is well underway. The effort, which includes installing ten new hydrants, is now 50 percent complete with five of the ten hydrants having been installed.
Not only will the hydrants improve emergency water delivery, but the new hydrants will improve flow and water efficiency by eliminating the leakage common in older infrastructure.
You will find new hydrants at Holmes Way and Willow Glen Rd, at the intersection of La Porte Rd and North Loop Rd., at La Porte Rd and New York Flat Rd., and at the Seven Springs Rd and Frenchtown intersection.
North Yuba Water District Board Represents at ACWA Conference
Board Member, Marieke Furnee recently represented NYWD at the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Fall Conference and Expo in Palm Springs.
In addition to attending conference programming to gain new insights into the state’s water infrastructure and industry, she had an opportunity connect with fellow water district officials from our region including colleagues from the Yuba Water Agency Board of Directors, and representatives from the California Rural Water Association (CRWA). CRWA recently helped NYWD engineer our new Challenge Water Tank.
Attendance at such conferences helps NWYD representatives to not only expand their knowledge of current water policy, industry best practices and leading-edge solutions , but it helps to build critical connections and relationships that will pay dividends for years to come.
